Let me say right off that it wasn't exactly what I thought it would be. I expected a cozy witch mystery and I got that and more.The plot is unique with a gated community of elderly vampires (IE vampires turned when they were 60 and older and none of them were lovely and young upon being changed!). Oh and the housing complex across from them is full of werewolves! NOTE: the werewolves did not make up a big part of this story (I hope they will later as the series continues).Mindy is a Home Health Nurse hired to see to the health of the vampires and werewolves. Yes, both of them have all the ailments (arthritis, low iron, diabetes, etc) that they had when they were turned or made into a werewolf. (At least I think the werewolves do also though the author didn't write much about them. The vampires and Mindy were the focus of this book).So something is killing humans on the beach. The police think it's the vampires, Mindy thinks it might be a vampire but hopes it isn't. The reporter, Matt, gets a crash course in what to do and what not to do around werewolves and vampires. The gate guard, Bernie, overcomes his fear of the vampires and a good time is had by all especially the reader!If you want a quick light fun read that will take you out of COVID confinement and into a world of wonder and monsters, then pick up this book. :) I bought the 2nd one of the series (I think there are 4 so far). You won't be disappointed.
